Integrated Navigation Solutions

With functional requirements becoming more complex, Raytheon Anschütz offers a higher degree of integration for modern bridge systems. The Synapsis Integrated Navigation System (INS) focusses on safety, performance and simplicity while offering maximum flexibility.

With our intimate know-how of offshore specific requirements we offer customers individual project support, starting with early system layout and project-specific drawings through setting in operation to after sales. Our customers can expect advanced integrated navigation capabilities with regard to regarding function, integration, redundancy and safety.

Multifunctional Workstations

Multifunctional workstations are the heart of the system and provide all information for reliable, safe and easy operation. The workstations are tailored to integrate (chart-) radar, ECDIS, conning and optional further applications such as DP at the choice of the ship owner, providing the crew with efficient assistance in their nautical and operational tasks. Depending on navigational needs and the respective situation at sea such as transit and maneuvering, during DP or deck operations, or while berthing, operators can get central access to the required application by simply using the task switcher on the screen.

Central Ship Control

All workstations use a standardized and harmonized HMI. The wide-screen TFT monitors increase space for the presentation of radar video, electronic sea charts, and sensor data, allowing for a clear arrangement of all control functions and status indications. Depending on their prevalent nautical task, the crew has available all needed information at a glance, benefits from immediate situation awareness and can take over control from any bridge workplace with a single action only.

Functional Integration

Radar and ECDIS no longer need to be separate workplaces. AIS and NAVTEX no longer need to be attended separately on a frequent basis. Different devices from different manufacturers no longer need to be in the main area of view of the navigator. The Synapsis workstations integrate all these systems and functions and make them available at a central position at a glance – this clearly means additional situation awareness for the crew. Additionally, Synapsis ensures consistent use of information and data throughout the whole navigation system.

INS Functionality

Synapsis provides a number of additional functions, which arise from the higher degree of integration and help to make navigation and operation more safe, simple and efficient. These are the new central alarm management, the integrated performance monitoring and the system health status monitoring.
