The systems comprise several manual and automatic steering positions and fulfill stringent military safety, environmental and operational requirements while also maintaining class approval and complying with all regulations.

„We are glad to expand our supply to Type31 e and to now work with all the major U.K. defense providers “, said Richard Waldron, Business Development and Sales Manager at Raytheon Anschütz. “We want to be the lowest risk and most trusted supplier for bridge, navigation and steering control systems in the U.K., and stay the supplier of choice for all Royal Navy vessels and export ships.”

In 2019, Raytheon Anschütz signed the contract to deliver warship integrated navigation and bridge systems (WINBS) to the Type 31e program. Using synergies in logistics and operations, the Type 31e WINBS expands on the core Type 26 bridge system design and provides advanced navigational and tactical capabilities engineered within Raytheon Anschütz’s open architecture framework.

Additionally, Raytheon Anschütz invested into new integration and testing facilities for the Portsmouth-based Anschütz U.K. office, which is co-located with Raytheon U.K. at the Portsdown Technology Park. These investments are going to support the corporation and localization of current U.K. programs.
