PilotStar NX ship autopilot gets a new view
Navigators can access the “Simplified View Mode” by pressing a soft button on the autopilot’s large graphical touch screen display. The well-arranged display provides easy-to-read heading data while they set course and adjust settings with a single keystroke. Key features of the PilotStar NX system include: • The well-known heading control mode, and a new “NAV” mode that enables sailing a route planned on a GPS receiver, chart plotter or equivalent.
- A “Trim” mode which optimizes steering performance and rudder activity for vessels with asymmetrical loads (e.g., tugs or fishing vessels).
- A “Fix turn” function that allows pre-defined heading changes with a single push of a button.
- Soft buttons for follow-up and non-follow-up manual control of the steering gear, and to extend to a compact steering gear control system.
