Enhanced Synapsis INS at Monaco Yacht Show

Raytheon Anschütz announces the launch of a new Synapsis software release and hardware infrastructure, which will further enhance the bridge alarm management and add new features and network capabilities to the Integrated Navigation System (INS).

Synapsis is the world’s first Integrated Navigation System (INS) which complies with the new IMO INS Performance Standards. Among the deliveries are Oceanco’s recently launched mega yacht Equanimity and Lürssen’s new Solandge – both are expected to be among the highlights of this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.

Visitors to the Monaco Yacht Show can explore the new Synapsis functions at the Raytheon Anschütz booth. In the foreground of the latest software release stands the new Conning NX display. The Conning has been completely new designed, taking into account valuable feedback from users and customers to provide an intuitive and attractive display of navigational and other ship system data. Main functional improvements affect bridge alarm management and target management. The presentation of alerts on the central alarm display has been optimized and simplified for the operator.

Of great benefit for users will also be the new, advanced user management which allows to store and share user settings for either a single application or the entire system. This includes the possibility to define standardized user profiles or standardized settings for certain manoeuvring situations such as docking, harbour or open sea. Finally, the new functions include the optional SynGuard security application. SynGuard integrates a suite of surveillance cameras with existing navigation systems such as AIS and radar to offer the crew early detection and identification of approaching contacts and efficient alarm zone or tender monitoring.

Raytheon Anschütz also introduces the new generation of Synapsis NX workstations, which are built on powerful and solid-state hardware and most flexible network architecture. The Small Marine Computer becomes the standard platform for all bridge applications, which can be added as modular software modules to the system. This architecture will set the standards for simplicity, scalability and flexibility of bridge navigation systems, including the capability of integrating further bridge systems to the navigation system as needed by the respective customer. The new Synapsis generation is presented at Booth QP63BIS in Parvis Piscine.
