Reduction of Hazardous Substances
To contribute to the protection of health and environment, regulations concerning the reduction of hazardous substances (RoHS) have been made. These regulations limit the use of substances such as plumb, chrome, cadmium and mercury in defined electronic devices.
What position does Raytheon Anschütz regarding RoHS?
As a manufacturer of navigation systems, the regulation does not affect the products of Raytheon Anschütz. Nevertheless, most of the own and third party products sold by Raytheon Anschütz already comply with this regulation. As an example, the Anschütz gyro compasses operate without the use of mercury for more than 100 years.
Green Passports have been developed to accompany a ship throughout its whole lifetime, providing all information of contained materials, which are potentially hazardous to human health or environment. For products, delivered by Raytheon Anschütz, green passports are available on request.
